1947年 2月3日北海道根室町字岬町に生まれる
1969年 武蔵野美術大学 実技専修科研究課程を修了する
1981-1982 文化庁派遣芸術家在学研修員としてロンドンに留学
1985年 旧落石無線局跡を個人スタジオとして改修に着手する
1992年 武蔵野美術大学造形学部教授に就任 - 現在に至る　
2009年 秋の褒章に於いて紫綬褒章を受章する
